I’ve suggested that FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler may not like the intimidation tactics of the extreme Net Neutrality left, going to harass him at his home. As a result, he may yet ignore the President’s recent suggestion to pick winners and losers with Title II Reclassification Net Neutrality.

Tech at Night: They are Grubering us on Net Neutrality.

It’s funny how even as firms like Google and Netflix claim that government regulation is so great, and we need Net Neutrality, we don’t see Google volunteering for Title II regulation of search, or Netflix volunteering for Title II price controls on streaming video. Oh, they didn’t mention the price controls when they told you Net Neutrality was about freedom, did they? Right.

They are Grubering us on Net Neutrality.

The President wants to mess with our Internet, and turn it into a socialistic program. And while the fringe left has been pushing this for months, the President’s threat in backing this power grab known as ‘Title II Reclassification,” that is deeming ISPs phone companies and passing 1930s-era stifling regulations in defiance of the bipartisan Telecommunications Act, is already scaring off investment in faster Internet..

Back in June I warned about the latest plan by the Net Neutrality extremists. They’re playing a shill game where one side promotes one illegal idea, the Open Internet order already thrown out by the Courts, and the other side promotes something even more extreme, a total hijacking of the Internet through a procedure called Title II Reclassification.

Monday, Barack Obama endorsed that extremist procedure, which would redefine the Internet as a phone service, and regulate the entire Internet under 1930s-era big government control.

Tech at “Night”: Down Goes Silk Road 2.0

Sorry this is late. I had a terrible headache Friday night.

Even as anarchists are talking about a “Hackathon” (a name that unfortunately for them will just remind everyone of Aaron Swartz’s crimes) to promote their extremist worldview, the FBI is busy on its own. Silk Road 2 is down, and its owner Blake Benthall has been arrested.

If I write a video game, and launch a server to host it, I’m spending money, putting it at risk, in the hopes that it will be an investment that makes me profit. The Constitution recognizes this is a good thing, and so gives me copyright protection over my works.

It shows just how far away from human rights the EFF, a ‘libertarian’ group, has gone, that they’re now arguing against property rights specifically for video game makers.

The difference between Republicans and Democrats is clear, and that’s why it’s important to vote and vote for the Republican.

Right now the Democrats are on a psychotic jihad against the Washington Redskins, and it’s gone from arbitrarily stripping a trademark, now to open intimidation attempts in California and even brazen censorship plans in Washington.

Vote for the Republican. Even if it’s a squish, vote for the squish. It’s important.

Tech at Night: Weekend Update

I’m not Chevy Chase, but I’ve been there.

This is your reminder that the FCC is still going crazy: it wants to regulate Internet-based video, which is a pure, unacceptable power grab.

On top of the illegal plans to go ahead and regulate ISPs, it’s clear the FCC wants total state-run Internet.

The latest Two Minutes’ Hate in lefty land is over AT&T getting sued by FTC because of throttling of unlimited bandwidth users.

The problem is, FTC is wrong, and AT&T is right here, and it’s not even close.

Tech at Night: The Future is Subsidized Data

On October 28, 2014, in General, by Neil Stevens
Tech at Night

As much as the extreme left wants you to fear anything other than a socialist Internet, Obamacare-style where your only choices are government dictated, the future is in innovation like subsidized data.

The fact is, government will always make this stuff worse if we try to “fix” it.
